Keep coffee “HOT” for extended period of time. The carafe keeps the coffee “HOT” for a long time. It is sturdy and light weight. Love it. The only thing is that I submerged it in hot soapy water to wash it and dishwater leaked out the ‘seam’ of the outer container (not from the inside portion or left over from the lip).No big deal – just be aware. I turn it upside down to get it make sure all water comes out from that seam. It’s the seam just below the handle.
