Krups 229-45 Aroma Control Thermal Carafe Coffee Maker – Wake up and smell the coffee! You can do it. This coffeemaker has a built-in timer that lets you do just that. And if you choose to sleep later, the insulated carafe keeps the brew hot and fresh.

By steeping ground coffee for nearly 2 minutes to begin the brewing process, this coffee maker delivers up to 10 cups of full-flavored coffee and then keeps it warm in an insulated thermos-carafe for hours. The thermos-carafe seals in heat during the brewing process and afterward to lock in flavor. This eliminates the need for a warming plate, which can turn coffee bitter. For making wake-up coffee, the machine’s programmable clock-timer can be set up to 24 hours in advance. There’s also an automatic interrupter that halts coffee flow for 20 seconds during the brewing cycle if the carafe is removed for a quick pour. The filter holder swings out for easy filling, and there’s a filter for removing the taste and odor of chlorine as well as minerals from tap water. For best results, remove the carafe from the base when the brewing process is complete, sealing off the carafe and insuring hot coffee.

Pretty good, not awesome I bought one August 2001. It stopped working on me yesterday- the lights are on, but no brewing. After a couple hours searching through Amazon and Consumer Reports, I’ve just ordered another one. A few notes on using it-

Ruben Leon says:

Best Coffee Pot we’ve ever owned. Let me preface my review with the fact that as a household we have been through probably 10-12 coffee pots over the past 10 years. Sounds amazing, but we use them all day long. We run a home business and it seems there’s always someone drinking coffee. We average 4 pots per day.

M. Greene says:

Great Looks – Good coffee I’m mystified by some reviews I’ve read here – “Tepid coffee” – “Great Coffee” – “Lousy Coffee” – “Best Coffee Maker Ever Made.” None of them reflects my experience.
