You hit the button again and it will turn white/blue and the kettle will heat. When it reaches boiling the light will go back to red and the water will stop boiling. After a few minutes the red light will turn off on its own.

The steeper is plastic. When you steep tea, … The steeper is plastic. When you steep tea, it holds little volume. There is no temp memory, you have to set it every time you take it off the base to keep it warm.
No good, please make another choice I have owned and used this for 30 days, it is a piece of crap (hopefully amazon allow this-they do filter things they do not like). For $80 it should work well. Krups has not properly sealed where the pouring top meets the glass . . . so when you go to pour your tea it dribbles out of this top seal, down the exterior of the pot and leaves tea everywhere. Krups has traditionally been a good brand name, but my pot is manufactured in China perhaps this is why the quality is poor. No more Krups…
leaks water all over counter! I bought this in June 2015, it worked at first, but 2 months later it’s leaking water out of the bottom, if any unused water is left in it. Messy, and scary since this is an electric product. It’s past amazon s 30 day return, so I don’t think I can return it. Shame, I’m out of all that money. Don’t buy, you don’t want to find yourself in the same position.
