Bypass of the RPWFE filter possible, keep reading If you are unfortunate enough to have bought a GE refrigerator with the RPWFE filter, you can peel the chip off of your filter bypass unit that came with the fridge, tape it over the location that reads the chip and use these filters at 1/5 the price. Your screen will read unfiltered water, but of course it’s not true. You will need to set a reminder to change these every 4 to 6 months depending on use, but for the money you can’t beat it. Mine dripped for the first day, but now stays dry…
Works fine like the OEM Package camed in undamaged within 2 days; of course, thanks for the Prime. they came in with plastic packaging sealed around. Replaced it with the OEM and turns out not that bad at all. Water tested like usual. 40 bucks for a whole year? Is a pretty good deal. Now, time to help my realtives to get their filters! PEACE!
Its works and it’s cheaper than original filter, match model before you order. I had an original GE water filter. This filter does fit and it works. It is cheaper than the GE version. The top stem on the Excelpure is shorter than the GE filter so i had to push harder for it to fit, but it’s working fine. The model letters on the Excelpure matched the model letters on the GE. I think some people are ordering the wrong model which is why they are having problems. My Excelpure says it fits GE RPWF, and it sure does.
