Microchip vs. No Microchip Overall Iâm pleased with these filters however, I may add that the taste isnât as pure as I anticipated it to be, maybe itâs just the Water Municipality location I live amongst ?My particular GE Refrigerator filter manual stated to only use RPWFE âMicrochipâ ( which is considerably more expensive ) I took a chance and to my surprise this particular RWF ( No Microchip ) filter did in fact work fine and saved $$$$ my refrigerator is out of warranty which is why I took the chance…
VERY UNSATISFIED I bought two other Tier1 filters for my Frigidaire and another GE refrigerator and they worked very good, However when I bought the 3 pack replacement for my GE RPWF filter replacement, thinking I would get the same results, I discovered they leak. I have now opened two of these and both leaked. I am now going back to the GE RPWF brand as it looks like these will not work. Very disappointed with this filter, but will continue to buy the other Tier1 filters for my other two refrigerators.
Works as well or better than original! Great price! I bought these over a year ago. The filters are a perfect match. The first filter was much tighter than the GE filter (less leaking in the door as it shut off tight). Second filter is a little more loose (drips a little more at the door), but works great. I will be purchasing these again.
