Additionally this filter can catalytically breakdown other impurities very similar to the way a catalytic converter works in your automobile. This filter should not be used with water that is micro biologically unsafe or of unknown quality, without adequate disinfection before and or after the filter. Great Bargain We have bought this several times. Works great. Make sure you follow instructions and run through a couple gallons until the water is no longer cloudy before drinking the filtered water.
no writing on this one and it seems to be working fine. My conclusion I ordered these a few months ago and finally had a chance to use one. I unwrapped it from the factory packaging but noticed that there was a date written on it using a ‘sharpie’ type pen. It said 10-2-14. Ok, maybe that was a manufacturing mark. I twist it on and it leaks from the get go. I try taking it off and reinstalling it…same thing. Put a pan under it to catch the leak thinking that it may stop itself…..no go.Since I had three, I decided to use another one….no writing…
Great price, zero chlorine in my water These filters are significantly :lighter” than the GE-branded filters. So much so that I was concerned they weren’t as effective in filtering my water. However, when I opted to purchase a full-on Kinetico water treatment system for my home, and had the demo “pre-install” water quality analysis performed, I was delighted to learn that these in fact were cleaning my incoming tap water of ALL chlorine. As for meds in the municipal water system (and heavy metals), who knows…
