STARTED SMOKING & MELTED-DANGEROUS!!!! We purchased this coffee pot in February 2010 & today it started smoking & the plastic started to melt. The smell of melting plastic is disgusting.
Didn’t last long, had to replace after only a year. After about six months of use, the carafe began to drip every time we poured coffee from it. The machine is constructed of lower quality plastic. I don’t like the design of the reservoir cover because when you open it to refill, condensed water from the last cycle will drip all over your counter top. The warmer plate heat is not adjustable, so after about half an hour the coffee will taste burned. I like the cone shaped filter. The coffee it makes tasted good as long as you pour it…
Poorly designed and started leaking after 2 years. My first thought when this arrived was that it looked cheap, but I wanted a simple machine and couldn’t be bothered to send it back so I kept it. The carafe is poorly designed and so it is hard to pour without dribbling down the front and if you use the carafe to fill the reservoir like I do, it is a messy and wet proposition unless you get it just right in the sweet spot. Also, if you aren’t careful to check that the filter holder is locked in tightly after washing, the coffee will not drip…
