The new IBIS features a stainless steel heating element which is integrated within the body of the kettle to avoid any contact and interference with the water during the boiling process. This cordless yet compact kettle sits on an electric base and boils up to 1.7 l, 57 oz. of water for coffee, tea, instant soups and more in just four minutes. Additionally, a see-through, easy-to-read water level indicator shows the user how much water remains in the IBIS. The IBIS will automatically cut off power once the water is boiled or if the pot is empty. This black IBIS kettle is made from BPA-free plastic and also comes in a variety of other colors to choose from.

Simple, Easy to Use Kettle This is my second Bodum branded kettle. The first one “died” after 7 years of continual, daily usage a week ago. This model is the updated version. I chose the red colour over the black because it was 10 dollars cheaper, and, hey – 10 bucks is 10 bucks! The new model comes with a 3 prong grounded plug and the heating element is in the center of the base. Wtf. So disappointed. I had to return both times I purchased this. The first one the light didn’t work and the second time it didn’t register that it was finished and stayed on. So when I finally gave up and just returned it instead of replacing it, they only refunded $17 when I paid $21. What is going on?

Happy but Ignorant This pot has a high capacity and heats the water really fast . I had an older model Bodum water kettle for over ten years . I used that old kettle everyday . The new kettle had a bad smell when I first used it , like oil or plastic . I could not see any evidence of what was causing the smell. I wiped it out and dumped several full kettles out after heating before I drank any from it . Still has a hint of odor when hot but no taste . I hope this is not from leaching chemicals from the…
