Highly polished with a sensuous curve, each piece begs to be picked up and cradled in the hand. Measuring 2-3/4 by 2-3/4 inches, the rotund sugar bowl holds 3/4-cup of sugar, while the 4-inch-high creamer holds 1-1/4 cups of liquid. A press-fit lid for each keeps contents from spilling: the creamer’s lid with air hole is shaped to fit over the spout with just enough room to pour without removing, while an opening under the sugar’s lid allows the accompanying sugar spoon to protrude. Double-sided with blunt ends, the stainless-steel spoon provides the option of a large or small scoop of sugar. Or, one end can be used to scoop, the other to stir. The double-walled construction means cream stays cooler longer. Very nice, but not insulated/double walled If you read the description on bodum.com, you’ll expect that these are double walled, to keep the creme cold. However, I just received them, and it was apparent that they are both single walled construction. I even poured cold water into the creamer, and it immediately had condensation on the outside surface up to the line which the water reached.As per the other reviewers, the lid on the sugar bowl looks like it will prove difficult to consistently put on, so I’d recommend expecting…
A pretty face but lacking in practicality I bought these because I loved their modern streamlined look. The sugar bowl is fine, but the creamer doesn’t work properly. When my first guest tried to pour from it the top flopped off, and landed inside the creamer. Also, with the top on, the milk doesn’t seem to want to pour. Not enough of an opening for air movement I guess, so the milk won’t come out. Oh well. Just another pretty face. I wouldn’t recommend this set.
