Ask any coffee connoisseur and they’ll tell you that in order for coffee beans to develop their full flavor profile, they must be ground right before coming in contact with hot water. This is where the bistro electric burr coffee grinder comes in and becomes part of the coffee making ritual. The Bistro is continuously adjustable – twisting the upper bean container determines how finely ground the beans will be. With over 14 settings from coarse to fine, you can deliver the ideal grind for any brewing method. But there’s more to it than that. Most coffee grinders use plastic containers to receive the ground coffee but plastic and ground coffee don’t go together well. The powder gets statically charged and spills all over the place. The new Bistro comes with a borosilicate glass container to catch the grounds. The glass catcher is inherently static-free, reducing the amount of overall static and “jumping” coffee grounds. This and the tight silicone/nylon lid make for an excellent, no-spill coffee grinder. The borosilicate glass container comes with a silicone band to make it slip-proof, an especially important feature when touched with wet hands. The Bistro is made from borosilicate glass, steel, plastic, rubber and silicone and comes in black, orange, red, green, and white.

Espresso AND french press! I’ve had this for a few weeks now and used it daily, so I can’t comment on the longevity, only the grind. I was apprehensive because I needed a grinder for both espresso and a French press, and this one knocks both out of the park. Espresso is ground powder fine, and the coarsest setting is, in my opinion, even a little too coarse for the French press. It takes a little experimentation to find just the right setting and number of minutes (the first few days I ground way to much), but I’m…
Good for a few months…. I like the look, size, and glass catch. Unfortunately I cannot say the same about its longevity. Bought this December 2016, and have used it relatively lightly since purchase…. 20 second cycles one or two times a day with regular thorough cleaning. Last week it started making this horrible sound. I emptied the beans and took the hopper off only to find coffee beans jammed between the burrs. Got them out, cleaned the unit, put the hopper back on with some beans, ran it for 5 seconds and it…
Good grinder for the Money I drink a lot of coffee. I just wanted to point that out. I’m not a person who detects subtle hits of blueberry or almond in their espresso shot. In looking for a grinder, my main concern was two fold: price and durability, so I bought this to go along with our new espresso machine. It works well. My only concern is this – I’ll eventually break the glass container. Where we live all of our counter tops and floors are tile. It’s only a matter of time…I bought the green one…
