Small. Doesn’t hold 6 cups of rice. Decieving, but I still like it much better than my old steamer. Okay, so here’s the thing. It claims to hold 3 cups of dry rice and 6 cups cooked rice. WRONG. It comes with a little cup (I measured it out and it holds 2/3 of a cup) and it’s THAT cup that is the portioning for this machine. So, it holds 3 uncooked “cups” of rice. So, I followed the rules and used that cup to cook the rice. I put in 3 dry cups and then 6 of the same cup of water.
