I hated that ugly plastic spout so I solved the problem … My CM5050 Gave out today after 8 years. I have a large stock of filter sticks so I needed another identical coffee maker. The problem with the original carafe is that it is poorly engineered, which makes it very sloppy. pouring coffee into a cup usually results in spilling some onto the counter top. Great Coffee Maker! Okay, I’m a sloppy person and I have no trouble pouring water or coffee from the carafe or into the tank without spilling a drop. The price and big bright numbers on the clock are great. I don’t understand the other reviews. Maybe the carafe has been re-designed since the previous reviews? The coffee taste great too!
