Failed in less than 60 days The coffeemaker worked fine, with no complaints, for almost 60 days. It then abruptly quit. The on/off switch lit up, but that was it. Even though this would probably be considered a throw-away appliance, 60 days is totally unacceptable. The outer cover has tamper resistant screws, so I couldn’t determine the reason for failure or attempt a repair.Since the coffeemaker was out of the Amazon return window, I called the warranty service phone number. There is a Two Year Limited Warranty. The service rep said she would have a new unit shipped. I only had to send in the plug with two inches of cord. I complained about having to wait for the plug’s return, since I would be without a coffeemaker. The rep said she would have the new unit shipped right away. This did not happen. It did not ship until the plug was received. There is a normal $7.50 shipping fee for replacement units. At least this was waived since the coffeemaker failed so soon.

Abruptly stopped working. UPDATE:Used this pot 5-7 times per week without problems. After about two months of use, it completely stopped working. The elements were heating a bit, but no water cycled through. You don’t expect much for $20, no bells/whistles. Still, I did expect it to work for longer than 2 months. I’m furious.Of course I’m outside the return window of Amazon. There is a 2 year warranty, which looks to be time consuming to take advantage of. Do yourself a favor, and skip this one.PREVIOUS RATING:It took 3 cycles to get rid of the chemical taste/residue on the machine (directions recommended one cycle with water). I did wash the carafe as suggested. Also, I didn’t realize it before buying, but there is NO automatic shut off! This is a bummer if you’re like me, and sometimes forget to turn things off when you leave the house/office. Other than that, the coffee maker is just fine and affordable.

Stormy says:

Messy and awkward The numbers on the water chamber window are so small I wonder why they even bothered. In my kitchen during the daytime, they are illegible. The carafe is a tight fit and hard to put into the coffee maker. This may loosen up a little with use. There is an deep indentation on the top of the carafe handle that catches drips (see picture). But for the money I guess it’s OK. I would not buy this model again.
