Building on the success of the BV1800TH, this new SCAA-certified brewer has rethought and optimized the automatic brewing process. The BV1900TS features a newly-designed spray head, which, coupled with the new basket-style filter basket promotes more even saturation and extraction. The 1500 watt heater ensures that the steady shower of water over the grounds is consistently around 200″-203″ F, and remains that hot for the entire brewing process. Most automatic home coffee brewers suffer from the same pitfall: they simply do not brew hot enough, often falling below 190″F. Bonavita’s line of brewers has solved that problem, which has earned them the seal of certification from the Specialty Coffee Association of America. The new basket-style filter holder fits most 8-12 cup size paper filters (base width of 3 1/4″), and the flat bottom promotes more even extraction of the whole coffee bed. The stainless steel thermal carafe holds 40 ounces, and will keep your brews warm for hours. The new pre-infusion feature allows you to pre-wet your coffee prior to brewing, which helps fresh coffee degas and prevents spillover. As ever, Bonavita’s design is perfect for coffee geeks and coffee lovers alike, with a device that is both easy to use and fine-tuned for exceptional coffee brewing. Best coffee I’ve ever had I made in my own kitchen If you’ve lived your life up to this point with watered down drool passing itself as coffee… Maybe even bought a keurig, thinking that would be your great-restaurant key to descent coffee (keurig is $200, so the coffee has to be great, right?)… You owe it to yourself to BUY THIS WONDERFUL MACHINE AT THIS MOMENT.The best cup of coffee I’ve ever had… I made in my own kitchen.Buy. Good coffee, small footprint, good customer service, some quality control issues Purchased this newest version of the Bonavita coffee maker with the thermal carafe (not the glass/hot plate version) from Sur la Table because it was the only local store carrying the newest BV1900TS 1500W model and I had a 20% off coupon. It was not available yet on Amazon. We are very happy with the quality of coffee made, simplicity of cleaning few parts, small footprint on our counter and customer service from Bonavita.
