This is the one Heavy! It’s amazing what a difference the weight makes. You effortlessly tamp down with just the right amount of pressure to create a solid, yet permeable “puck”, which leads to the kind of espresso you rarely see done right: Thick and dark, with a golden brown “crema” on top. I’m no expert, but I love it! I can only compare this to the crappy plastic tampers that come with the cheaper espresso machine we’ve bought… But this works soooo much better! We use it with a Rancilio Silvia, and it has made the tamping so much easier. It’s a nice weight, fits the portafilter perfectly, and the metal looks as good as when we bought it! If you’re not sold on the $70 tampers but want to upgrade from the terrible plastic tampers that come with most machines, give this one a try!
