Nice percolator! A few months ago, I bought this percolator in a local store–needed my coffee right away! I had used drip coffee makers for years but noticed the glass carafes are thinner now than they used to be and instructions advise not to put in dishwasher, which if you disregard can give you brittle glass which could chip and cut your fingers (yes, personal experience). Ok this one rocks! A couple years back I purchased a GE version of this identical model…it was fine for a while then like everybody said it would take on a mind of its own as to how it wanted to perk. Finally all it would do is heat the water and you had to pour cups of the heated water over the basket to make coffee….complete and total fail! Update on “Perfect Percolator!” to “Not So perfect” Disappointing. Update: I am changing my 5 star rating to a 3. After a few years, this percolator developed cracks in the glass lid but still worked great. I couldn’t find a replacement lid so for $35 bought another of the same percolator. Oh my – night and day. The new one is poorly constructed. The plug falls out easily and the locked lid is so loose it spins around! It seems poorly constructed. Very disappointed after having had such good luck with my previous one.
