Excellent….errr, maybe not Really great machine! Coffee is HOT, and flavor is outstanding, never bitter and no funny aftertaste, this really lets the flavor come through. Although I like the design of the Hamilton Beach Scoop better, this KA makes a better tasting cup – I had them both side by side for a week and picked the KA, and returned the HB. Dark-roasted, fine-ground coffee works! I have been using the same 1-cup coffee marker for 15-20 years, The problem has been that any replacements I have tried overflowed and made a mess when I used dark-roasted, fine-ground coffee. I called at least six coffeepot makers and asked if they had a product I could use. No one stepped up; in fact, most said don’t bother to try.
