Easy, quick, makes great coffee. To answer the main question first — yes, this item makes a fantastic smooth cup of coffee. And with a little experimentation you can learn the right amount of ground coffee to make anywhere from one cup to six cups and make it as strong or as mild as you like. I’m partial to dark coffee like Starbucks Sumatra, and this makes a very rich, dark cup of coffee with no bitterness like my traditional coffee pot produces. So that’s good. Wonderful Item, it’s legit too We bought a classic and a handblown to compare, it’s very obvious different looking and the quality is there. The handblown (13 cup one) is thick, heavier, and clearly less likely to shatter. The Classic is thinner, has a bigger seam and has inconsistent edging lengths in the carafe near the spout area. The handblown does have a seam, though a lot more subtle than it’s classic counter part. The classic is lighter and sounds different when tapped, it also burns your hand when the coffee is…

Good But not Great! The Chemex makes great coffee! No plastic or aluminum exposure. It’s a great, nontoxic method to have a great cup of coffee. That said, it is difficult to pour (it takes 2 hands) and the wood and leather collar is truly a pain in the butt. I clean the pot daily and having to remove those pieces and then put back on is a pain in the butt. I emailed Chemex customer service and suggested they make a silicone collar that didn’t have to be removed to clean. They responded promptly but acted…
