Awesome coffee maker especially for the price! Pros:1. It uses similar technology to the BV1900TS that has a SCAA award for meeting the above 195-205 degrees conditions under testing2. It is the lowest cost brewer that uses the above technology that earned an SCAA award3. The brew basket is now separate from the carafe which is more convenient4. No longer can recommend as replacement carafes are expensive (after shipping cost) – what a waste. Update: This was my favorite coffee maker until this morning when I broke the carafe. the new carafe costs $18.00 plus another $16.45 in shipping from Bonavita’s replacement part reseller which is nearly 40% the cost of a new one. I guess I will just use my Chemex carafe with unit until I can purchase a more fairly priced replacement carafe.Last update: I just went back to using my Bialetti Moka pot.
