Ggggrrrrrinding fatality! When I say Black and Decker what springs to mind? Drills, workbenches, tools, circular saws. Tough tools for tough jobs. Probably “coffee maker” isn’t on the list.

Definite Contender with Cuisinart But Despite Wonderful Features My Coffee Still Tastes Better Made On Cuisinart This B&D is a serious competitor for the Cuisinart DGB 650 BC, which I’ve owned 4 years. The B&D is attractive, modern looking with well thought out features and has a very well lit user-friendly control panel. For a brand I typically would not consider to be on par with Cuisinart, this machine comes very close. It has differences, such as the grinder is built into the reusable filter which seems quite innovative to me. The B&D machine lets you control the coarseness of the grind, whereas Cuisinart grinds to the same fineness no matter how many cups of coffee you’re making. The grinder compartment on this machine makes a lot less mess than the Cuisinart. In the Cuisinart, beans and coffee grinds do escape into the plastic molding of the machine, and it requires more maintenance most definitely. Both can be set to brew automatically at a certain time of the day and that function works great on B&D as well as on Cuisinart. Cuisinart has a charcoal filter used in the water reservoir…

Black and Decker CM5000WD Mill and Brew Coffeemaker-UnBEANievably Brews the Best Confessions of a coffee addict….I got on the K-Cup ® kick about four years ago. I kept buying more and more flavors: Vanilla, Crème Brulee, Dark Roast, Light Roast, Chocolate Glazed Donut, Limited; in the end, I Java Love-d myself into a frenzy (Java Love was my preferred brand), realizing just how much money I wasted on those convenient cups–about a buck a piece. Never mind, killing the good earth with all that unnecessary plastic.
