Intermittent terrible taste I have received filters from this brand before with no issues. I just got these last week and installed into the fridge, ran 3 gallons of water through the filter (suggestion was 2.5 gallons) and everything was great. The flow was perfect and all was good until the following morning when I gave my son a cup of water & he said it tasted funny. I tasted it too and he was right. Bad Batch of WSG-1 Filters? Turns out NO! I have used the Water Sentinel WSG-1 in my GE refrigerator for years with excellent results. We have well water, high iron, and sediment. Our $10K water treatment system doesn’t quite do the job, and we have to filter water for drinking. Up to this last order, the WSG-1’s worked perfectly, producing sparkling clear, good tasting water.
