Fixed Loud Noise when trying to dispense water Refrigerator was making a loud chattering sound when trying to dispense water. New filter wasn’t the issue and with a bit of internet searching I found out this piece was the likely cause. Install video on YouTube helped, and I had it replaced in about 15-20 minutes. No more noise and water is dispensing again.
Very easy to install Very easy to install. And it fixed the rattling sound I was getting everytime I would try to get cold water from the refrigerator water outlet. It would have taken me only about 40 minutes if I had taken the precaution of putting something under the part when attaching it to the refrigerator wall, so if the screw came off the screwdriver it wouldn’t fall very far. I didn’t at first, and I spent 15 minutes trying to find it. I still haven’t found the screw. Luckily I had an identical one.
An easy and necessary replacement for a poorly designed GE part. The part works, and installs intuitively enough. Iâm just glad this replacement costs less than a replacement filter since this receptacle is something a GE fridge owner will need to replace every two years or so since GE appliances are garbage.
