GE Warranty Information
For a period of 30 days after the date of original purchase, GE will replace (at no charge) and part of the water filter cartridge that fails because of a defect in materials or workmanship. The warranty extends to the original purchaser and any succeeding owner for products purchased for home use within the United States. The warranty does not include service trips to your home for product tutorials; improper installation; failure of the product if it is misused; replacement of the cartridge because of water pressure that is outside the specified operating range; damage to the product caused by accident, fire, or flood; and incidental or consequential damage caused by possible defects with the appliance.

Not the item pictured The item pictured is the GE brand filter. That’s not what arrived. When I installed it, the refrigerator started making horrible pounding noises, and the water flow stopped shortly after I started running water through it.I took it out, put the old filter back, and then tried again, and this time it worked, but I’d never had that problem with actual GE filters.

No surprises…that’s GOOD. We have a GE Profile bottom-freezer refrigerator that uses the GSWF filters. I went to a local Home Depot and found that all of the filters on the shelf had been shoplifted and the old used filters left in the new boxes. A previous online purchase had yielded 2 GSWF boxes, one GSWF filter, and another different GE filter that is not interchangeable. So…I was relieved this time to get three, new, accurately packaged, correct model filters at a decent price. Now I’m set for a year and a half…
