FXRC replacement on my non-Monogram GE Profile side-by-side refrigerator I wanted to replace the old FXRC “by Culligan” filter in my GE Profile fridge. According to this product listing and the GE website, I should have purchased a MWF filter plus the filter adapter. That would have been cheaper than buying this MXRC, but reviews suggest that it doesn’t work very well on older refrigerators due to lower water pressure.I read a bunch of reviews here that made me think the MXRC might work fine – though I wasn’t sure if my refrigerator model would be OK…
Arrived opened Fits my “GE Profile Performance” fridge, previous filter FXRC Cartridge by Culligan. This cartridge looks just like the FXRC. Fortunately Amazon’s return/replacement is efficient as the first filter arrived with the shrink wrap opened partway – the part over the attachment (like someone had opened it just enough to see if it would fit his fridge). MXRC replaces FXRC, works great (I DON’T have Monogram series). This filter worked great in my GE refrigerator. My refrigerator is NOT a GE Monogram series, so I don’t understand why this statement is listed with this product “The GE MXRC replaces the GE FXRC Water Filter ONLY for GE Monogram Refrigerator”.My refrigerator had an old GE FXRC which the landlord probably had never changed.
