Solid and good replacement unit for GE OEM MWF After reading about issues online with other similar filters, prior to installation, I ran water from faucet into new filter (until full – it gradually filled up over a 5min period). When I screwed it in / installed it, saw some water come out and was worried about a tight enough seal, but was apparently too much water that I put in prior to installation as I wiped it up and saw no additional leakage. Very different from previous purchase! I was replacing an old filter from the same manufacturer and figured they’re be the same. They are not. The new one is much lighter in weight than the old one was at installation, so I compared the specifications and discovered several differences. The flow rate on the new is .5 gpm, while the old one says it’s 1 gpm–although it does say in a footnote that “because the actual water pressure may vary in your house, the actual flow rate is .5-1 gpm.” Another small difference is in the water…
