REMANUFACTURED Filter in new box! BEWARE! First off I absolutely can’t stand when people rate a product poorly because of a seller. With the exception if you have received something other than what you are being told that you are buying, thus alerting others to take heed. The seller Be There Soon! sent me a box that I expected to see, but with a filter inside that didn’t match the box. No labels, it had been obviously been handled prior, and it did not fit correctly. The top part of the thread that locks the filter in place is clearly the wrong size (side by side picture would have shown this better), so the filter doesn’t stay in place. The top of the filter looks very different from the one I took out of my refrigerator. My refrigerator did not even operate/dispense water when this filter was installed. This is clearly not the same filter and is absolutely not what is being sold here in the ad or on the box it came in.Can’t speak for other sellers, but avoid Be There Soon!

A 30 second job The GE instruction sheet was incorrect, there’s no adapter on top of the MSWF filter which needs removing. Just peel off the tin foil cover on the top of the filter, fill the new filter to the top with tap water and screw it in the holder in the refrig. Drew off two large glasses of water and by then the “sputtering” had stopped and I was back in operation. Last thing to do was resetting the red “replace filter” LED warning light.Literally took 30 seconds and didn’t spill a single drop of water although I had put a dishcloth under the old filter before I removed it based on some other folks claiming they got water all over the inside of their refrig. Obviously user error. When the old filter is unscrewed, a check valve shuts off the water supply to the filter. I think the folks with problems pushed up on the new filter when trying to screw it in; thus, unseating the check valve and spraying water inside their refrig. Don’t do that…just let the threads on the filter do…
