My new filter… Like a good corporate citizen, I’ve been buying the name-brand GE MWF filters for our GE Profile refrigerator every 6 months whenever the little reminder light comes on. Over the last 2 years the price on the GE filters has risen slightly, however since my last GE filter purchase 6 months ago, the price jumped up a whopping $15 (I paid $30 6 months ago)! And this wasn’t just on on Amazon, but on every online retailer I could find. Is there a sudden shortage of block charcoal? 🙂 Who knows…
You Can Pay More but Why…? Folks, there is pretty much no difference between this filter and the branded product except a whole lot of money. The majority of companies manufacture their filters overseas – very often they are made in the same factory along side the ‘generic’ versions.
