First world problems: A solution for the too-small beaker! UPDATED REVIEW 09/05/17: This beaker is still alive and kicking; I use it daily and take the time to warm it up before I pour boiling water into it. Bodum 12 ounce French press refill carafe I was so crushed when our little carafe broke while I was doing dishes. I hadn’t even applied that much pressure! However, given that we’ve used it 1-2X/day for about a year straight I’m actually very impressed! While looking for a new mini press I came across replacements and thought I’d try that since the rest is still in great shape. Yay! Works OK, but has an annoyance factor. The sides aren’t quite straight on the one I received, so the plunger gets loose as it reaches the lower 1/3 of the beaker. A few stray coffee grounds aren’t going to kill me, but it’s something you’d expect to work a bit better.
