Keep It Simple Stupid, gone too far Bottom line, this unit makes good coffee. It is simple in it’s design, to a fault however. I knew from reading others posts of the deficiencies this unit had so I wasn’t surprised when I made my first few pots. Yes, the carafe does a very poor job of keeping the brewed coffee, even warm. The other deficiency is that there is no mechanism to shut off the drip, midstream or otherwise. When the unit is done with it’s part of heating and dispensing the water into the basket it signals a beep…
Auto-drip for the serious coffee drinkers This is the closest thing to a pour over while producing 8 cups and a hassle free experience. I highly recommend keeping the “bloom” option on if you’re grinding fresh beans to ensure the flavor keeps up. I usually go 15 tablespoons of coffee for 8 cups and a fairly fine grind. Dialing it in took about 4 pots, but have had no issue with the device itself. I would highly recommend this to anyone who takes coffee seriously
