The integrated Brita water filter also contributes to better-tasting coffee by screening out chlorine and other harsh minerals, plus it prevents calcification within the water tank. A marker on the top of the water tank helps you keep track of when the water filter needs to be changed. Other handy extras on the AromaDeluxe include a filter release button, which swings the detachable filter basket open for filling or easy cleaning, and a pause-and-serve feature, which stops the brewing while you pour a cup of coffee midway through a cycle. For safety, the glass carafe has a comfortable, nonslip handle with an open design to accommodate larger hands. Excellent Coffee This seems to be a disappearing coffee maker which is unfortunate. I have been using a Mr. Coffee which has performed adequately, but I have always favored a Braun coffee maker and decided to seek out a relatively low cost alternative to my present maker. Read me I don’t understand why they didn’t include a gold tone filter. Maybe because it was already cheap, yet you have to go out and buy that separately for an additional $10.Other than that, I think this coffee maker is great. There’s a better version than this, the one that comes with a timer. Replacement for Mr. Coffee for Elderly Grandmother This Braun coffee maker was a success for my 90 year old grandmother. She needed a simple coffee maker that made good, hot coffee and this product fit the bill. The large “on” button at the bottom of this pot is easy to see and press. The lid flips up easily with a nice wide opening for water. After helping grandma set up her coffee maker, I liked the simplicity so much I bought one for myself. Both coffee makers are still going strong after 3 years of heavy daily use. Highly recommended!
