Glass Carafe cracked twice : ( I expected more from “The Original French Press”. My first order of this product arrived with the glass carafe cracked/damaged, so I returned it which through Amazon’s return process was quite simple. My second order came and after about 4-5 used the carafe cracked again, just by pouring the water into it. Seems the integrity of the carafe is very questionable. Also when pouring the coffee I found the spout did not control the flow of coffee well, some of it can spatter which can leave…
Clunky and Cracked Fast Enjoyed the idea of having the ability to close the spout on this model, but realized that the design is rather clunky and difficult to clean. Also the glass cracked within a month of my purchase. Since it’s the model with the separate spout, finding a replacement is difficult. Tempted to just buy a completely different model, instead of a replacement glass.
Unnecessary addition to an otherwise perfect design… Quality seems to be fine. But they added a plastic insert with spout, and a rubber gasket, that unnecessarily complicates the product. the original was elegant and simple.
