You turn it on and it makes coffee. Yay! This pot does the job very nicely. The reservoir has no narrow, restricted areas that prove to be nearly impossible to clean. The basket uses the most commonly available filters and it has a handy “pause” valve so you can steal a quick cuppa before the whole pot is brewed. It’s also pretty fast. The carafe pours nicely without dribbling or spilling. It has some nice design engineering features such as a rotary valve so that if you’re in a hurry like me and turn on the heat as you fill the reservoir, any perks of boiling hot water go back into the reservoir instead of spurting out at my face :)For twenty bucks, I wanted a simple, quality pot that works. I wanted an elegant, foolproof control system on it. It doesn’t have a computer, a timer or any IoT bluetooth interface with my smartphone that will betray any thoughtcrimes I commit before I’ve had my therapeutic morning coffee to the Thought Police at the NSA or disclose metadata about my daily routine to Chinese…
