The KRUPS XP160050 Steam Espresso and Coffee Machine produces espresso or coffee in just a few simple steps. For every step, we recommend that you always use freshly ground coffee to get maximum flavors and aromas (using KRUPS grinders!) On the coffee side, simply fill in the water tank with the amount of water needed for your desired number of cups. Swing out the filter basket and place a #4 paper filter inside the basket. Finally incorporate your ground coffee before swinging the filter basket back in and start the brewing cycle. Thanks to the programmability, set your clock to start a full pot of coffee automatically every morning. For the espresso part, steps are as simple as above : fill in the water tank, grind your coffee fine and put it in the portafilter before securing it in the brewing head. Start the exctration (from 1 to 4 cups) and enjoy!

Far better than I expected Having read comments about this machine smelling like plastic I was worried that the machine would be inferior.But the machine is actually good.
I use it ALL the time; best gift ever! Note: this was a gift with accessories (tamper, stainless steel “jug”, grinder, cups rack and plates, etc) all from Amazon, and I haven’t yet used the coffee pot. (I’ve already got one; this will be used when the other one blows; we drink a LOT of coffee so I anticipate needing the coffee pot part one day, lol).
Nice Combo I think this is a nice coffee maker – but there are a few things that are a bit strange. The instructions are written in such a way that I would bet a non-English speaker wrote it. If you are trying to use the program setting you hit the coffee button once. This turns on a red light. If you want it to brew right away you hit the button twice and a green light comes on.There is no filter for water (which is okay – but should be noted).Also, when using the espresso machine they tell you to use all the water for the espresso and then add more water for the steamer. I find that this is not necessary.The heating element only heats the glass pot for 2 hours. FYI.Overall I like this combo and the coffee maker.
