Fantasic (I’m pretty good about going back and updating my reviews if a product goes bad on me so.. even if it’s years later if I haven’t updated this consider my coffee maker to still be doing a good job and going strong 😉 )Â
This is a nice, basic coffee pot. My husband is the coffee nut in our house and he says this Mr. Coffee is absolutely fine for a machine which is only intended to brew pot after pot of coffee. Personally, I like the sleek metallic look and the configuration of the buttons arranged on the front of the machine. I should warn you right now, though, the pot does not come with one single paper filter. Really, Mr. Coffee, couldn’t you have put in a couple so we could try the pot as soon as we received it? As it was we waited until the next day to stop by the grocery to pick up some of the round filters. Then it was on to making the first pot of coffee. The intervening time had not been wasted because we had already gone through the process of cleaning the pot with a full 12 cups of water.Â
Works well with little flaws Pros: makes excellent coffee; affordable; stainless steel details make it look more expensive than it is; allows user to preprogram brew time; allows user to select brew strength; has timer that displays when you begin brewing so user can know how long the pot has been sitting on the burner; automatic 2 hour shut offCons: when the coffee pot is removed from the burner after brewing a fresh pot, the filter basket allows a drop or two of coffee to leak onto the burner. In addition to being messy, over time this can destroy the nonstick burner surface. To prevent this, simply remove the used filter/basket prior to removing your coffee pot. Then nothing will be able to drip! Only other con is that the time display is not backlit. Very hard to read unless you have a lot of lights on. I would appreciate an LED display for convenience. The digital numbers are hard to distinguish from the background.
