A thumbs up review. I waited two weeks to review this percolator. I’ve found over the years it doesn’t matter where a product is made, it’s how well the company want’s their product to last and perform over time. Hamilton Beach apparently has pride in their name because this heavy, well constructed pot has performed flawlessly over the past two weeks. I use bottle water kept in the refrigerator and paper filters in the basket. Cold water, as one reviewer has said fools the thermostat and the pot will perk a little…
Overall a good purchase Overall I do like this product. Have always been a fan of perked coffee.The only negative is that the lid for the basket often separates from the basket during the perking process; it results is some grounds on the outside of the basket and around the top inside rim.. Typically need to wipe the inside rim when I remove the lid to extract the basket. Just an extra step.
Excellent coffee Had it with the drip coffee makers and all the other makes and decided to go back to a percolator and boy am glad I did. This is exactly what I have been looking for a straight forward pot that makes fantastic coffee fast…love getting up to the sound of it doing its own thing in the kitchen…you will not be disappointed in this heavy weight pot.
