Failed in less than 60 days The coffeemaker worked fine, with no complaints, for almost 60 days. It then abruptly quit. The on/off switch lit up, but that was it. Even though this would probably be considered a throw-away appliance, 60 days is totally unacceptable.
Designed by the finance department… Coffee is OK. Seems like it wants to drip hot water all over the counter. It comes out of the basket after going around the filter/coffee (since its completely clear), then runs down the side of the carafe and onto the heating element . Obviously a bad design for controlling water delivery. If you like hot water everywhere and the sound of water boiling off between the element and the carafe, this might just be the coffee maker for you. Otherwise, skip this poorly designed cheap junk.
Disappointed This machine did not function as previous Black & Decker coffee makers have in the past. Water had a tendency to overflow the basket and onto the hot-plate. A messy and un-safe situation. I couldn’t figure why the coffee exited the drain hole at the bottom of the basket so slowly. Maybe the machine heated the water too quickly which produced an overabundance of water to the basket, causing the overflow. I’m not sure. I sent the first machine back to Amazon. They were fabulous at getting me a…
