Not hot enough – 165F is too cold for tea. Update -A year later and the smell and taste of the water is bad. small metal particles are in the water. I stopped using it fro fear of my family’s health and bought a different heater. Coffee by the gallon The urn is getting a lot of use at American Legion functions. The pluses are – coffee is hot and remains hot once it is brewed as compared to our old urns that just maintain temperature very warm. If you are used to the older aluminum urns you will notice that it takes longer to brew with this one and must adjust starting time to have it ready in time. The other odd thing is that you start with full urn up to the max line (50 cup)but by the time it is done brewing the level is down to 45…
It work but the listing is slightly misleading. It totally works. It brews and when it reaches a certain temp it reduces so it doesn’t burn. The only reason I didn’t give it 5starsis that the listing states that it has adjustable temperature. It does not do this. But it does work for my needs
