A Top Pot I got the red (a color I love) but only after discovering the silver didn’t seem to be available. Is the kettle being discontinued? Don’t Buy this Lousy Excuse for an Electric Kettle Fool me twice. This kettle is a piece of crap, and I’ve bought two of them in two years, so I should know. I was drawn in by the Russell Hobbs name and the elegant design. Don’t be fooled. It’s made in China, the construction is slipshod, and it will break within a year of purchase. Given that it’s a very simple product, involving a heating element, a plug and a switch, this defies belief. I’ve tried to return it, and the process is so byzantine that I gave up. This one works and won’t kill you — but you have to work it So. This is arguably one of the few of these electric kettles that’s ok, which is to say it’s not going to kill you. I just bought this thing, so we’ll see how long it lasts, but considering that everything manufactured in China these days is absolute junk, I have low hopes. Anyway, this thing DOES have plastic in it, but it can be easily removed.
